NPA Now Offering SLP Acculine Stage Solution

Oct 29, 2009

Nippon Pulse America, Inc., (NPA), a leader in the motion control industry, is now offering its high precision SLP Acculine linear, single-axis stage series. The SLP stage has incorporated NPA's successful linear shaft motor into an all-inclusive stage that offers solutions for industrial applications.

As an all-inclusive stage, the SLP series integrates shaft support within the housing and simplifies the transition from conventional ball-screw systems. Because the SLP stage features NPA's linear shaft motor, it is a low-profile, high-precision product. With the highest force-to-volume ratio available on the market, the SLP stage is a perfect solution for those with space limitations, while compared with every other linear stage available, the SLP stage features the smallest dead zone.

NPA's linear shaft motor, which has been available for over two years, has three basic concepts. It is simple, consisting of only a magnetic shaft and a forcer. The shaft motor is also high-precision, taking advantage of its ironless make-up to offer zero cogging, while giving complete stiffness. Also non-contact, the shaft motor has a non-critical air-gap that eliminates variation in force over the stroke of the device.

Nippon Pulse America, Inc. is a fully-owned American subsidiary of Nippon Pulse Motor Co., Ltd of Tokyo, Japan. Nippon Pulse offers various controllers (boards and chips), drivers (boards and chips), and motors (tin-can, hybrid and linear servo) to cover almost any motion application.
