Nippon Pulse Offers PCL6045BL Controller Chip to Reduce CPU Burden
Dec 08, 2010
Nippon Pulse offers the PCL6045BL controller chip, a 4-axis programmable pulse generator that provides the oscillating, high-speed pulses to drive both stepper and servo (pulse string input types) motors. The PCL6045BL enables the user to easily configure complicated motion control systems.
The PCL6045BL controls up to four axes, the linear interpolation of two to four axes, circular interpolation between any two axes, and can confirm operation status and output an interrupt under various conditions. The chip also offers operation correction, backlash correction, a programmed soft limit, and the ability to override operating pulse rate and target position during operation.
With 18 major operating modes, the PCL6045BL also offers a ring count function, out-of-step detection, start by internal synchronization signal, and external output of comparison results. The chip has a maximum output of 6.5 Mpps and a standard reference clock of 19.6608 MHz. Ideal uses for the PCL6045BL include placement in biotechnological instruments, scientific instruments, medical analysis machines, inspection systems, and semiconductor manufacturing.
