PCL61x3 Control Chips for Servos/Steppers, 15Mpps Maximum Output

The Nippon Pulse PCL61x3 series controller chips provide users looking for increased operational control a low-cost option. Serving general motion control applications, the PCL61x3 chips are designed to control servo or stepper motors, reduce burden on the CPU, and allow engineers to design complex motion profiles.

With a maximum output pulse rate of 15Mpps, the PCL61x3 series chips are compatible with high-resolution linear motors such as Nippon Pulse’s Linear Shaft Motor. In addition, the PCL61x3 series have built-in preregisters, two up/down counters per axis, linear interpolation function, and servomotor interface. Users also get overriding operating pulse rate and target position during operation in progress.

Other features of the PCL61x3 series include nine types of error factors, 14 event factors (all of which can initiate interrupt signal), nine major operating modes, ring count, start by internal synchronization signal, and external output of comparison results.

The three chips in the series are the PCL6113 (1-axis control), the PCL6123 (2-axis), and the PCL6143 (4-axis). Application fields include medical and bio-medical stages, lab automation equipment, XYZ metrology, pick and place, laser cutting, and engraving.

Nippon Pulse America, Inc.is a fully owned American subsidiary of Nippon Pulse Motor Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan. Nippon Pulse offers various controllers (boards and chips), drivers (boards and chips), and motors (tin-can, hybrid, and linear servo) that cover a wide range of motion control applications.
